1. One-year full time experience in modern laboratory animal facility from research institution / industries in the area of breeding, weaning, producing timed pregnant females and maintenance of laboratory animal including transgenic knockout mice colonies.

2. Experience in various invasive procedure, anaesthesia and euthanasia of laboratory animals.

3. Experience in microbial / health and genetic monitoring [PCR based] of laboratory animals.

Job Description

1. The candidates will be expected to undertake the jobs of breeding, weaning and maintenance of laboratory animals.

2. Assisting scientist/ project staff for various invasive procedures / anaesthesia/ euthanasia of ongoing animal experiments.

3. Regular monitoring of health and genetic quality of laboratory animals.

Age: Upper age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per notification.

Mode of selection

  • The candidates as recommended/shortlisted by the duly constituted Screening Committee will be called for Trade test.
  • Those who qualify in the Trade Test will be invited for a competitive written examination of Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III.
  • The Paper-II & Paper-III will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure minimum threshold marks (to be determined by the Selection Committee) in the Paper-I
  • The Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper-II & Paper-III.

The Screening/Selection Committee will adopt its own criteria for short listing the candidates to be called for trade test, written test and Interview.

Stage-I: Trade Test

A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct the Trade test in the relevant subjects and competitive written examination for the candidates to evaluate their suitability for the post.

Stage II: Written examination

Mode of examination: OMR based or Computer Based MCQ examination.

Standard of examination: Based on the advertised qualification of the post

Total number of questions: 200

Total time allotted: 3 hours

Paper I

  • Subject: Mental ability test
  • Time allotted: 1 hour
  • Number of questions: 50
  • Maximum marks: 100

Paper II

  • Subject: General awareness and English language
  • Number of Questions: 25 for each subject (total 50)
  • Maximum marks: 75 for each subject (total 150)
  • Time allotted: 30 min
  • One negative mark for every wrong answer

Paper III

  • Subject: Concern subject of the post
  • Number of questions: 100
  • Maximum marks: 300
  • Time allotted: 90 min
  • One negative mark for every wrong answer

The final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in paper II and paper III.
