How to find the Pharma or Lifescience job you love the most-II
One of my friend who read the previous post called up to say this; “Perhaps its time we should discuss careers in pharma and lifesciences industry more broadly so that these young fresh grads are aware of many more career paths in areas like medical/technical writing, data analysis, biostatistics, business analysis, export-import, supply chain etc”
Thats a nice feedback. If you think seriously,if the hiring organisations could go out to these colleges and make presentations on the various functional roles in which a fresher could make a beginning, probably that may create a lot of excitement and fun about the job roles.
Another point that may be worth sharing with freshers is the key individual traits that are essential pre-requisite for succeding in a particular job role. This can happen if the college/institution facilitates discussions/interactions between the students and industry professionals across different functional roles.
How to find the Pharma or Lifescience job you love the most?
Since 2007 I would have personally counselled more than 50 lifescience graduates armed with additional courses in Clinical research on the strategy they need to adopt for their first ever job search. In the last few years “Clinical Research” or “CRO” has been two very glamourous words and also considered as the best employment destination for most of the Pharmacy/Biotech/Lifescience graduates. Something lifescience folks feel proud about working for, especially looking at their engineering counterparts who work in IT Industry.
